OUTREACH, SCHOOL ACTIVITIES AND PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT

As STEM ambassadors, we are dedicated to inspiring the next generation of young scientists by showing them practical applications of the way science can impact our economy and society.

EES National Award working with Wycombe Abbey school in collaboration with the University of Manchester and the Diamond-Manchester Collaboration, 24 April 2015.

Masterclass in "3D depth perception" at Amersham school on 27 June 2015 (Speaker: Dr Kamel Madi / Collaboration & Preparation: Mrs Sue Jones, Head of Science at Wycombe Abbey school and Mrs Rachel Dorris, our Engineering Masterclass Coordinator).

Real life 6 months STEM projects for year 12 and S5 (16 & 17 year old) students

We allow students to gain a taste and understanding of engineering careers  by working on real life research projects. In 2015, in collaboration with the University of Manchester and the Diamond-Manchester Collaboration (Pr PD Lee), we enrolled in a 6-month programme with 5 students from Wycombe Abbey school to design a special rig for geological studies for which we were awarded an Engineering Education Scheme National Award.

The Engineering Education Scheme in England & Scotland is an EDT Programme which links teams of four Year 12 or S5/S6 students and their teacher with local companies to work on real, scientific, engineering and technological problems.
